[闵行]协和双语教科:BC国际课程部 面向多变的未来——职业生涯教育课程毕业设计展

为了帮助学生能够了解自己的兴趣与志向,在未来多变的世界中适应新的机遇与挑战,BC国际课程部的职业生涯教育课程,由升学指导老师Ted.Corbould教授。本门课程分为职业生涯教育、职业生涯联系、毕业项目三个部分,贯穿学生10-12年级,学生通过三年的学习,探索个人兴趣,规划职业方向,并对自我、对社会、对世界形成更深入的理解。

目前,12年级的学生完成了“毕业项目课程”,并于图书馆进行了“毕业设计”项目展示。

什么是毕业项目课程?

毕业项目课程是一个让学生反思及分享个人有意义的学习方式的高难度课程。本课程的目的是让学生展示他们的知识、能力和激情,并将个人兴趣,个人优势与更好的未来结合起来。它是学生学习旅程的展示,为学生提供一个反思,综合分析以及展示的机会。

完成毕业项目课程是BC课程的一部分,也是学生毕业要求之一,学生通过提交毕业设计作业,并完成30小时志愿者时间,最终获得相应课程学分。

学生通过毕业设计项目,将三年的课程学习心得汇聚并互相交流,思考个人与团队的关系,探索兴趣,发展潜力,展现他们在常规课堂中无法落实的创意和想法。项目主题涉及多个领域,包括心理、传统文化、艺术、音乐、体育、环保、航空、科学等。

毕业设计项目的呈现方式也多种多样。有部分学生选择做大约十到十五页的小手册,例如有一位学生在手册上介绍波普艺术,同时加入自己的绘画作品,以此来体现波普艺术在中国的影响。在一个主题为垃圾回收的项目中,几位学生在校园里做了实验,并且分析出在校园里的哪些地方需要放置垃圾桶。也有些学生选择PPT展示,做模型或是视频等方式来展现他们的设计。

本次毕业设计展示,由中外教老师与11年级学生共同参评,评委听取学生课题思路,并给出指导意见,或是向学生提问,最终通过扫码进行投票打分。在这个过程中,我们看到了学生们对于知识的好奇心和热情。他们非常乐意与别人交流,表达自己的想法,坚持而不固执,碰撞出了更多的智慧火花。

In order to help students understand their own interests and aspirations, and adapt to new opportunities and challenges in the changing world in the future, BC international curriculum Department has set up career education courses, which are taught by tutors Ted. Corbould. This course is divided into three parts: career education, career connection and capstone project. It runs through the students' 10-12 grades. Through three years of study, students explore their personal interests, plan their career direction, and form a deeper understanding of themselves, society and the world.

What is capstone project?

Capstone project is a difficult course for students to reflect on and share meaningful learning styles. The purpose of this project is to enable students to demonstrate their knowledge, abilities and passions and to combine personal interests and strengths with their better future. It is the exhibition of students' learning journey, which provides students with an opportunity to reflect, analyze and display comprehensively.

The completion of graduation project is a part of BC course and one of the requirements for graduation. Students can obtain corresponding course credits by submitting graduation design assignments and completing 30 hours volunteer time.

Through the capstone project, students gather and exchange their three-year learning experience, think about the relationship between individual and team, explore interest and develop potential ability, and show their creativity and ideas that can’t be implemented in the conventional class. The project theme involves many fields, including psychology, traditional culture, art, music, sports, environmental protection, aviation, science, etc.

In addition to the theme of the project are many kinds, the presentations of the project are also diverse. There's a lot of little booklets that students have done. May be 10 pages, 15 pages. Some students did pop art, show some their own arts, show the impact of this pop art in china. Once a really good one was about recycling. Went around the school and did some experiments of we know where garbage of cans are needed, where they see garbage. They did little experiment, they measured it and gave some suggestions. Some students did PPT, models, or videos to show their project.

This capstone project is evaluated by Chinese and foreign teachers and students of Grade 11. The judges listen to the students' ideas and give guidance, or ask questions to the students, and finally vote by scanning the code. In this process, we see the students' curiosity and enthusiasm for knowledge. They are very willing to communicate with others, express their own ideas, adhere to but not stubborn, collision out of more wisdom sparks.

毕业项目的主题是普及高中生对睡眠不足的认知,督促他们学习时间管理,合理分配时间,探讨获得充足睡眠的可行方法。根据学校进行的调查结果以及针对睡眠不足的不完全统计,目前已有超过35%的青少年饱受睡眠不足及相关症状的影响。这个项目的目标是为了提高学生对于睡眠不足的潜在危害的认识,通过例举应对目前情况的可行方案,强调睡眠时长的重要性,以及由此带来的短期和长期的益处。

The objective of the capstone project is to popularize the concept of sleep deprivation and propose feasible solutions for high school students to manage their time and energy to get sufficient sleep. According to the survey conducted in the school and the official statistics regarding sleep deprivation, there is currently more than thirty-five percent of teenagers and adolescents suffering from sleeping deficiency and its symptoms. The goal is to raise students' awareness of the potential hazards of sleep deprivation and emphasize the benefits of sleeping in the short and long term.

探寻不为人知的老地方

看着少有人问津的上海老地方和餐桌上捧着手机却没有交流的家庭,我不禁将这两个元素融为一体,再加以老师的帮助和建议诞生了这个课题的设计理念。因此设计一条可在上海实施的徒步亲子路线并且限定参与者必须是亲子关系可以改善亲子关系的同时推广出上海一些被人忽视的历史地方。比起一些网红打卡地,这类富有历史底蕴的建筑群更值得我们带着家长一起去体验。

Explore the uncared-for old buildings

With the widespread use of social software nowadays, people not only follow some internet celebrity to visit some restaurants, but even when a family of three has a dinner around the table, they are immersed in the moments and give "likes" instead of promoting the parent-child relationship.Meanwhile, web celebrity's promotion of some restaurants also makes it harder for people to find truly meaningful old Shanghai buildings. Therefore, I combined these two problems together to produce the design concept of my capstone project and I designed a parent-child hiking route about uncared-for old buildings that can be implemented in Shanghai to improve these two issues

波普艺术是二十世纪最有影响力的文学运动之一。波普艺术的名字由来由英语中的“流行”一词产生。我会选择这个课题是因为波普艺术与其他艺术不同,它是来源于大众化的艺术同时它也有非常新奇的审美价值。在21世纪中它仍然是一个深受追捧的艺术。我从小学画画,所以对于这门艺术一直耳濡目染,但是在生活中很少有人了解这门艺术。所以我希望通过这次课题有越来越多的人可以知道波普文化。其实波普艺术一直在我们身边,它不像其他的艺术品会被展出于各色的博物馆。像最近的村上隆的太阳花,著名潮牌的玩具熊medicom toy 和波普艺术的联名款,灯光秀,很多衣服,雕塑甚至建筑的图案都来源于波普艺术。所以我希望更多人有机会去了解这个文化就会发现它既普遍却又不普通。

Pop art is one of the most influential art movements in the twentieth century. The name “Pop” comes from the word “Popular”. The reason why I selected this theme is that Pop art is an art formed and derived from the mass public but also giving unique aesthetics to the public culture. As one of the most welcomed forms of art in the 21st century, pop art is something that is welcomed by the majority group. As a student who is interested in art, I feel honored to have the opportunity to introduce this art form to others so that more and more people will be able to admire and enjoy Pop Art. Pop art is really into our lives. Unlike traditional artworks that are displayed in museums and art fairs, Pop Art is all around us. It can be found in patterns of clothing, the shape of the sculptures, designs of the buildings. Many things that require beauty are based on Pop Art. So, I believe that Pop Art is already something that everyone should know about.
